Educational Fundraising – Think Global; Act Local
Common Grove also offers schools the opportunity to participate in an Educational Fundraising Campaign – Think Global; Act Local. School Ambassadors lead students in determining their school’s (or individual class’) carbon footprints. Students then champion programs to engage their families, relatives, and neighbors to contribute to offsetting the associated amounts. Program details:
- 20% of the funds go to the school for an energy audit or for energy saving devices and technologies
- 20% can be used for further Earthseeds educational programs in the school
- 20% runs the program
- 40% is invested in Common Grove’s Carbon reducing business affiliates
As with similar school-based fundraising programs, there are also student and classroom prizes, as well as other incentives, largely provided by Common Grove’s sponsors.
